The S31803 dual phase stainless steel is a duplex stainless steel made of 21% chromium,2.5% molybdenum and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloy.
It has high strength, good impact toughness and good overall and local resistance to stress corrosion. The yield strength of the S31803 duplex stainless steel is twice that of austenitic stainless steel, which allows the designer to reduce the weight in the design of the product, giving the alloy a price advantage over 316,317 L.
This alloy is particularly suited to - + 50 ° F / 600 ° F temperature range. Applications beyond this range can also be considered for this alloy, but there are some limitations, especially when applied to welding structures.
