2205 Duplex Stainless Steel Tube

- Jan 25, 2018-

2205 Duplex stainless steel tube is a new product successfully researched and developed in 2000. 2205 duplex stainless steel is a nitrogen-added duplex stainless steel (abbreviated as 2205 dual-phase steel). The duplex stainless steel 2205 alloy consists of 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum And 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloy duplex stainless steel.

The main alloying elements of duplex steel are Cr, Ni, Mo and N. Which Cr, Mo to increase the ferrite content, and Ni, N austenite stable elements. Some types of steel also have Mn, Cu, W and other elements. Cr, Ni, Mo can improve corrosion resistance. Its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion is particularly good in chloride-containing environments.

Mechanical machinability

On high-speed machines, 2205 alloy feed rate and cutting speed and 316L is the same. With carbonized knives, the cutting speed is reduced by about 20% compared to 316L, where the performance of the machine and its components plays a key role.

Heat treatment performance

Alloy 2205 should be annealed at a minimum temperature of 1900 ° F and then rapidly cooled for water quenching. This treatment applies to solid solution annealing and stress relieving. Strain relief treatment, such as at temperatures below 1900 ° F, tends to result in the precipitation of unwanted metal or non-metal phases.
