Korea's Scrap Exports Declined by 40.4% in the First Quarter of 2018

According to statistics from the Korea Iron and Steel Association, South Korea's scrap exports amounted to 98,900 tons in the first quarter, a drop of 40.4% year-on-year.

From the point of view of export destinations, South Korea's exports of scrap steel in most export markets have decreased, with the exception of China Taiwan. In the first quarter, South Korea’s scrap exports to China’s Taiwan increased by 32.6% to 16.7 million tons; China’s scrap exports fell by 54.2% to 21,500 tons; Vietnam’s scrap exports declined by 46.5. %, to 23,100 tons.
