Wire rope basic knowledge

Inspection of appearance dimensions: Inspection of the surface, structure, method and quality of wire rope diameter (including roundness).

Wire rope splitting test: Part or all of the steel wire strands are disassembled or monofilament is tested to calculate the total wire breaking tension in the wire rope and to evaluate the wire rope performance.

Wire rope breaking tensile test: The test of the ability of a steel wire rope to withstand breaking tension under the effect of one-way static tension.

Relaxation test: The test of the stress loss of a steel wire rope after a certain period of time under the initial tension.

Flattening test: The test of the degree of deformation of the steel wire rope under the action of the forward pressure.

Fatigue test: The test of the repeated bending ability under the action of the alternating pressure specified by the wire rope.
